With the webshipr tracking email, it is possible to configure a custom sender address.

In order to use your own domain as the sender, we require you to add our servers to your domains SPF record. This is to prevent other mail servers to detect your tracking mails as SPAM, and to prevent that webshipr’s servers are detected as spammers.

It might sound complicated, but it isnt.

 

Configure SPF record

First you will need to login to your DNS Hosting provider ( – typically where you bought the domain ). From there you should first determine if you have an existing SPF record, and then follow one of the guides below.

I have an existing SPF record

If you have an existing SPF record, you should append the webshipr SPF record to this entry. Our SPF is called customer-spf.webshipr.com. An example of how to change an existing SPF record could be:

Existing:

v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ~all

Updated with webshipr’s server:

v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com include:customer-spf.webshipr.com ~all

I don’t have any SPF record

You can then simply create a TXT record with the data: v=spf1 include:customer-spf.webshipr.com ?all

If you are using your domain with another email provider, you might want to merge their SPF with ours. You need to contact your email provider in order to find the correct SPF record for this.

 

Create and verify your domain in webshipr

1 ) Go to “Settings” => “Tracking mails”

2) Click “Your domains”

3 ) In the box type the domain you want to add

4) You should now see your domain in the domains list with a “verified” label. If your domain is not verified, your DNS is not configured properly, and you need to change it, and click “verify” again, in order to check the status.

5) When your domains are verified, you can select them as sender under each individual tracking template, like below.
